Inflated life

Its been almost a fortnight since I got to scribble in my page. I did quite a bit of reading in the meanwhile. Of late I've become a great fan of Frontline magazine. This is one magazine that has managed to get me hooked on to. The thoroughness of the details vetted out just amazes me.There is a perfect threading through facts, reasoning, impact analysis etc.
One of the recent editions published showcased some of the worst consequences of rising inflation. The cover picture itself was enough help imagine worst that could happen to human and an urban lad like me could never think of. The recent hike in the fuel prices, though defended with excuses by the game rulers, harshly pinches the stomach of the have nots. The tax reliefs that was announced earlier in the financial year, that gave a cushion for the middle class, the several subsidies for industries and cut on duties directly or indirectly has largely been responsible in the driving the price hikes. In essence the burden that was shared by the middle class has been multiplied and shifted down the economic hierarchy. Is this something justifiable? Well someone might justify in a particular context. But my question is is the exchequer so short of reserves that they need to sponge on the hungry ones? I just wonder..

I am not writing here to suggest fancy solutions that I think will work. One thing I can say for sure is that we are exactly in the wrong direction if we plan to head towards socio-economic equality. I do hope that the predictions of those who say inflation would drop to single digits will become true very soon, I do hope that we begin to align our policies with our goals and head in the right direction. I hope..

Back to writing.

It's been long since I really wanted to write a blog. The concept for blogging gained popularity among my peers probably about 5 years. By habit of acquisition from peers my thoughts were driven to follow suit. I did make a couple of futile attempts in the past. There was absolutely no continuity and I stalled abruptly.Because, there was one thing that stopped me in joining the parade. Obviously the question "why?". I think to this day that questions as these are the most difficult to answer. Most of our lives are driven by what others do.There are hardly few I have come across who stop to think and beg to differ. After long periods of thought process I found a somewhat convincing reason to express myself.
Primarily, as humans we perceive and process lots of information through our senses. It is an everyday process that takes place without our knowledge. It being so, I believe that there should be an equal amount of information flowing out of our minds. This is what could keep our minds running, for after all life is a zero sum game. There could be several ways one can let out the mind. But bloggin I believe is one that stands out as the most free form of expression. It is simply your private space where you let your river of thoughts flow without giving a damn to where it really goes. Lastly, it simply serves as log of some important phases of our lives, or atleast what one thinks so. Though one cannot lay the foot steps of the past again once can defintely look back at his foot prints. Hence I write....

The 'R' word has been pronounced at the tip of the tongue so much so that it is possibly the most used word in the recent times. Businesses across all sectors ranging from Automobile to high tech industries have taken a backseat in the race to clinch the super power status.Expenditure has been cut down accompanied by huge down sizing in work force. There is no second thought that this is one of the worst economic situations in history. What once stood as super structures has just been vandalised like the sands being washed away by the sea waves. It is imperative that we remind ourselves that this crisis has happened in an age where there has been ample advancement in every aspect of life and every method deployed has stood the test of experiments of several research programmes. Facts being so it is vital that we assess the root causes for such a downfall.
Large Businesses are very unlikely to undergo changes overnight because they keep their fundamentals quite intact and in complete control. This is quite analogous to a big rock which does not whether for ages. However past few months witnessed sudden fall big banks filing bankruptcy which consequently has long standing repercussions to this day each one bailing out a day after the other. What is quite evident boils down to simple statement that what we see and hear needn't really be the truth for the rock can be hollow.
Over the past century several economies have turned to capitalism. Progress achieved a new speed with the advent of capitalism.Advancement of technology, cut throat competition are few aspects that characterize capitalism.Although it is a goody bag it carries with itself a Pandora's box of troubles. It no doubt led to a dog eat dog meat world, pulverised socialist pattern in several societies, crumpled diversity that hitherto coexisted well inter twined. The solution is however not to rescind to historical way of dealing things but to derive a lesson or two from pages of the past.A gift pack of security policies shall quarantine the fear among people. Reformation and galloping ahead has always been the key to bounce back to speed. An alloy of socialism and capitalism shall get the bull up and running. As to when we are gonna see better days is mostly unanswered. But as Andy Dufrense says in Shawshank Redemption, lets hope for the best.Hope is a good things that never dies.

Sannidhi Road to Hang Tian Chao

My first trip to Beijing. I was quite skeptical even to board the flight. But what I headed to in the next few hours and over the next few days was something entirely unpredicted.

I was taken aback on looking at the huge airport stretching long distances with a roof coloured red in a traditional style. Good infrastructure was what was evident on a first sight at the city. Well maintained roads, with massive flyovers intertwined with each other keeps the traffic mellifluous. The pedestrian subways are maintained under wide roads. Commutation within the city is hardly any problem. The underground trains, taxis, buses collaboratively aid the passengers to move around with ease. Not to forget those locally made three wheelers which helps save some bucks for those who wish to refrain from using public transport.
The city is completely built with super structures which houses big corporations and offices. In the midst of this the entire city is sprinkled with historical places all over. The forbidden city, summer palace , temple of heaven, Tian'anmén square serve as the ornaments of memory, keeping alive the culture and traditions.

The Badaling is juxtaposed with Beijing, with a expressway running between them. This is the part of the earth that has been declared as one of the wonders of the world. The Great wall stretching thousand of kilometers scrapes through the Badaling over the hills. This masterpiece, believed to be visible from the earth's lonely natural satellite, attracts millions of visitors to show its majesty.

One is tempted to think that the people seem to be in a oyster shell. However, there are signs of the society moving away from conservatism into being liberal. Doors are open to foreigners to actively participate in the development of the country. the building of the national art museum by a French architect in the neighborhood of the Forbidden city is one to illustrate.

These apart, shopping centers like the silk market titillate the tourists to grab goods for dream prices. Bargain is the key to come out with bags of purchases. Wangfujing is a treat to the affluent folks displaying the well known brands

All in all I would say that it is incredible.
